Our Congregation
Congregation Tiferet Torah was established in 2002 and quickly secured a place of prominence among our Community’s institutions. A young, vibrant congregation noted for its
warmth, Tiferet Torah renamed Tiferet Shaul in Memory of Chief Rabbi Shaul Kassin A"H, has proven to attract all who pass through its doors. Its talented Rabbinic staff, together with its dedicated members have fostered a lively environment pulsating with activity. With a focus trained squarely on growth and advancement, our congregation constantly introduces new initiatives. Under the direction of Rabbi Michael Haber, Congregation Tiferet Torah has expanded its regular prayer schedule to include daily early-morning learning, nightly in-depth Gemara study, studies in Minhat Hinuch and monetary Halachot, and many other Torah classes. Our youth program is comprised of boys’ groups, girls’ groups and Mishna learning. Our Shabbat newsletter is received by thousands. Our women’s program includes classes by the renowned Mrs. Violet Chkouri and the talented Mrs. Chani Shelby.
Rabbi Joey Haber’s speeches, classes and involvement provide powerful inspiration to our congregation. His internationally acclaimed weekly lecture consistently draws an
overflow crowd, and its recording is streamed throughout the Syrian Community and beyond. Without question, Congregation Tiferet Shaul is hub of spiritual activity on a magnitude which defies its current humble dwellings. In 2008, with the dream of securing a proper home for our congregation, Mr. Harry Adjmi initiated the drive to purchase a property. After marshalling the resources of Jojo Chehebar, Joey Safdieh and Joey Jerome, he succeeded in acquiring a lot in the central location of Quentin Road and East 2nd St. Today, we look toward an even brighter and more promising future. With a new, state-of- the-art facilities, Congregation Tiferet Shaul stands on the precipice of boundless possibilities.
